Semaglutide | FlexTouch | once weekly

Wegovy

Wegovy contains semaglutide and is taken once weekly as prescribed.

Use only as prescribed. Do not combine with another GLP-1 medicine unless directed.

AdministrationHow to administer Wegovy

Wegovy is injected once weekly. Use it on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without meals.

These instructions are for Wegovy FlexTouch. If your product is not Wegovy FlexTouch, do not use these steps. Follow the leaflet that came with your medicine or ask a NowExpress pharmacist.

  1. 01Wash your hands.Gather your Wegovy FlexTouch, a new needle, alcohol swab, and sharps container.
  2. 02Check the medicine.Confirm the label, dose, and expiry date. Use only if the solution is clear, colorless, and has no particles.
  3. 03Attach a new needle.Wipe the rubber seal if directed, then attach a fresh needle. Use a new needle for every injection.
  4. 04Choose and clean the site.Inject under the skin of the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites with each dose.
  5. 05Select, inject, and hold.Turn the dose selector as directed, insert the needle, press the dose button until the dose counter returns to 0, then wait before removing as shown in the leaflet.
  6. 06Dispose safely.Remove the needle after each injection and place used needles in an appropriate sharps container.
StorageHow to store Wegovy
  • Keep Wegovy in the refrigerator at 2 degrees C to 8 degrees C.
  • Do not freeze Wegovy. Do not use it if it has been frozen.
  • Keep it in the original carton to protect it from light.
  • For Wegovy FlexTouch, after first use it may be stored refrigerated or at 15 degrees C to 30 degrees C for up to 56 days.
  • Keep the FlexTouch cap on when not in use, remove and safely discard the needle after each injection, and store without a needle attached.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

If your medicine was left outside the refrigerator, exposed to heat or light, or accidentally frozen, ask a pharmacist before using it.

Side effectsPossible side effects

Some side effects are common, especially while the dose is being increased. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if side effects are severe, persistent, or worrying.

  • Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, belly pain or discomfort
  • Headache, fatigue, indigestion or acid reflux, dizziness, gas, or bloating
WarningsWho should not use Wegovy

Do not use Wegovy if any of these apply to you, unless your doctor has specifically reviewed and advised you:

  • You or a family member has had medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
  • You have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).
  • You have had a serious allergic reaction to semaglutide or any Wegovy ingredient.
  • Contact a doctor urgently for neck swelling, trouble swallowing, severe stomach pain, allergic reaction symptoms, severe vomiting or diarrhea, gallbladder symptoms, or new/worsening vision changes.

Tirzepatide | KwikPen | once weekly

Mounjaro

Mounjaro contains tirzepatide and is taken once weekly as prescribed.

Use only as prescribed. Do not share your pen or needles.

AdministrationHow to administer Mounjaro

Mounjaro is injected once weekly, any time of day, with or without meals.

These instructions are for Mounjaro KwikPen. If your product is not a Mounjaro KwikPen, do not use these steps. Follow the leaflet that came with your medicine or ask a NowExpress pharmacist.

  1. 01Wash your hands.Gather your Mounjaro KwikPen, a new needle, alcohol swab, and sharps container.
  2. 02Check the pen.Confirm the label and expiry date. The liquid should be clear and colorless to slightly yellow. Do not use it if you see particles or discoloration.
  3. 03Attach a new needle.Wipe the rubber seal, then attach a fresh needle as directed. Use a new needle every time.
  4. 04Prime each new KwikPen.Before the first dose from a new KwikPen, check the flow as directed in the leaflet until medicine appears.
  5. 05Choose, clean, and inject.Use the abdomen or thigh. Another person may inject in the back of the upper arm. Dial your prescribed dose, insert the needle, press until the dose window shows 0, and hold as directed.
  6. 06Dispose safely.Remove the needle as directed and discard it in a sharps container. Never reuse or share needles.
StorageHow to store Mounjaro
  • Do not freeze Mounjaro. Do not use it if it has been frozen.
  • Protect Mounjaro from heat and light and store it in the original carton to protect it from light.
  • Unopened KwikPens should be stored in the refrigerator at 2 degrees C to 8 degrees C and may be used until the expiry date if kept refrigerated.
  • If an unopened KwikPen is stored at room temperature up to 30 degrees C, throw it away after 30 days.
  • After first use, store the KwikPen in the original carton, either refrigerated at 2 degrees C to 8 degrees C or at room temperature up to 30 degrees C.
  • Throw away an opened KwikPen after 30 days at room temperature, 30 days after first use, or after 4 weekly doses, even if medicine remains.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
