Start low, adjust gradually
Mounjaro® usually starts at 2.5 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks, then may be increased based on your response and tolerability.
How to administer Mounjaro®
1 Wash hands Gather your pen, a new needle, alcohol swab, and sharps container.
2 Check the pen Confirm the label and expiry date. The liquid should be clear and colourless.
3 Attach a new needle Wipe the rubber seal, then push and screw on a fresh needle. Use a new one every time.
4 Prime each new pen Before the first dose from a new pen, check the flow as directed until a stream appears.
5 Choose and clean the site Use the abdomen or thigh. Wipe with an alcohol swab and let it dry.
1 Dial your dose Turn the dose knob until the dose window shows the amount prescribed.
2 Insert the needle Insert the needle straight into the skin at the cleaned site.
3 Press and hold Press the dose button until the dose window shows "0".
4 Hold for 5 seconds Keep holding, then pull the needle straight out of the skin.
1 Remove the needle Recap with the outer needle cap, then unscrew the used needle.
2 Dispose safely Discard the needle in a sharps container. Never reuse or share needles.
3 Store the pen Recap the pen. Each KwikPen holds 4 weekly doses. Refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C, do not freeze.
